The temperatures are dropping in the Northeast and frost is on the pumpkins at night. I urge you to bring your hoses and hose reels indoors now. You must remember to shut off the valve leading to your outdoor water spigot. After you do, go outside again and open the water valve in order to let any water in the pipes to drain to prevent any remaining water to burst the pipe or ruin your water valve. Gutters are important to remain clear of leaves and debris. The rain water or melted snow from your roof must have the opportunity to drain down the gutters and away from your home. This should help with water penetration into the basement and may also help with ice damming on the roof. And don't forget to bring in that outdoor furniture!
